Nature Wedding on riverside – Neda & Simas

Morning Preparation

Civil Ceremony

Photoshoot around Raudondvaris Manor

We started with a short session around Raudondvaris Manor and its park, about fifteen minutes out of Kaunas.

And then, completely by accident, the place was full of motorcycles. Nobody planned this. They were simply there that morning. Simas used to ride a lot, motorcycles are one of his things, so we could not just walk past them. We took a few frames next to the bikes and he was smiling in every single one.

The best part came later, on the way back to the car. We noticed a small field of tiny white flowers, and Neda’s dress was covered in little flowers too. I don’t know if you believe in that kind of coincidence. I don’t even know what to call it. But it made the whole session easy and we had proper fun there.

A Humanistic Ceremony at Fazenda Sodyba

For both the ceremony and the reception, Neda and Simas chose one place: Fazenda Sodyba, a greenhouse style terrace venue surrounded by forest. Read more about Fazenda here.

The ceremony took place on a wooden terrace by the riverside, surrounded by the calming sounds of trickling water, birdsong, and the gentle rustle of the forest — a truly fairytale setting.

Reception at Fazenda Sodyba

The celebration started with the newlyweds walking in and the whole room applauding. Loudly.

Then came my favourite part. Instead of a stiff round of introductions, Neda and Simas made a guessing game. They wrote a funny description or a short story about each guest, read it out, and everyone had to guess who it was. Grandparents, work friends, cousins who had never met, all suddenly on the same team.

It worked because the writing was so good and heartfelt. These two clearly have a sense of humour, and the jokes landed. By the time the food came out, people who had arrived as strangers were already teasing each other.
