When poppies bloom in Lithuania (and how short the window is)
The peak of blooming is usually in June. This session was at the end of June, and the flowers were already close to their dying phase. That year we also had unusually hot days with no rain, so they were fading really quickly. It can actually be a matter of just one week. Once you notice the field is blooming, it’s best to plan your photoshoot straight away.
Where to find Poppy Field?
It’s worth mentioning that poppies are wild flowers, so the field itself isn’t guaranteed to still be there next year, it depends on what the farmer decides to plant. Finding a good one is a bit like hunting a unicorn. They’re rare, and the spot that worked this summer might be a corn field by next.
Poppy fields can usually be found around the Trakai region, near Lentvaris. This particular one was closer to Vievis.
